Hello, I'm new to using this program, and I'm excited to learn how to expand my creativity. I'm a desert dweller from AZ, married, and have two grown sons, and now two grandchildren with a new one on the way. I have lots to catch up on since I got my fancy cuttin' machine this past Xmas, although, I've been scappin and stampin for five years. I'm very happy to have a community to help out and the generosity amazes me.
We are happy to have you here! If you need help, do not hesitate to ask questions.
Hey Cathy - when he isn't on the other side of world my son is stationed at Ft. Lewis outside Tacoma! I loved Seattle when we visited out there a couple years ago.
This is the first forum that I have ever joined. This was my hubby's idea. I am glad I did. It has been quite helpful!
Okay, so my name is Ingrid (glamgal8). I live in Land O' Lakes, FL. I have lived in the the Tampa Bay area practically all of my life. I am 38 and have been married to my wonderful hubby 14 years (in Sept.) but have been together for 20 years now. Boy how time flies! No kids just one adorable cat. I have worked in various fields. Retail, Computer-aided-draftsperson for many years, events coordinator, cake decorator, administrative/bookkeeping and have had home based opportunities (Creative Memories & Mary Kay).
I love the MTC software. It has opened up a whole new world. I love crafts. I have done many. Basically I am a Jane-of-all-trades, master on none. I have tried as many crafts as I can. (My husbands fault for introducing me to Michael's when we first started dating.) The monster he has created. I want to try as many things as I can.
I am currently a full-time administrative and have returned to college for my next degree. This is a slow process! I can't wait to graduate, but only being able to take one class a semester is dragging it out. I wish I could be a full-time student again... those were the days...
I guess that is a little slice of me. I don't like to bore people with my personal stuff. Only if asked. :-)
Thank you to all that have shared and contributed to this forum. I am learning so much each day that I log on.
my how the forum has grown! It is so awesome to meet so many new people from all over the world! HELLO EVERYONE WELCOME. LOL I had to yell so everyone could hear me.
Wow!! This is a warm welcome. That is truly heartwarming. Thank you :-). I am glad to be here and can't wait to catch up with all of the posts... (At least I will try ;-) ) I am enjoying getting to know the members through the great little bios. Great idea to start the "introductions" discussion. Thanks to all that started this forum. :-)
You'd think writing an "About Me" wouldn't be so hard for someone who has been using the internet since I could spell.
I'm Britt and I'm from Arnold, MO (about 15 min S of St. Louis) and I'm 24 years old and single. I have LOTS of fun facts. My parents were professional puppeteers when they met (Marionettes) I'm an only child I have two dogs, Hiro and Ranger who are both Cairn Terriers (like Toto) I've been scrapbooking since I was 12 when my mother got me some scrap supplies for xmas on a whim (now I have HER addicted!) I attended Mizzou where I majored in Theatre Performance (after a brief stint as a choral music ed. major) and have studied classical voice for 8 years. I've been in 16 full-length stage productions and uncountable scenes and one-acts I have been part of several school choirs and groups including an a capella group and have traveled to sing in many states as well as touring in Canada and Europe I also love Vampire and fantasy stuff especially books My favorite band is Hanson - I KNOW, but I love them (actually most of you were probably already married with kids when I was discovering them! I feel like a baby in this forum. :) I'm currently working in retail and am a Substitute teacher. I will soon be enrolling in a master's program to receive my MA in Speech and Theatre Education. I looooove MTC. I've been obsessed with it since the moment we downloaded the trial. The first night I created about 17 files that I couldn't even cut b/c I hadn't bought it yet! My scrap inspirations are my younger cousins - I have seven girl cousins from 22yrs to 7yrs and one boy cousin who is 18 months. They have given so much life to my short number of years. My favorite scrap buddies are my mom (the best mom ever) my grandma, and my aunt Jessie.
You guys seem so nice and sweet. Thanks for being so welcoming! And Thanks for the great product, Andy.
I saw that you were from there. I wish I would have joined some scrapbooking group when I was there or something b/c I would have gotten SO much more scrapping done. I was really busy trying to get out of school in four years! I'm going to be posting some stuff soon. I like your blog btw!

Ok here is a little bit about me. My name is Michelle. I am currently living in Germany for the second time. Have only been here a year as of the 5 th of July. My mother was born in England. My dad was born in Alabama. He was in the air force when he met my mom in england and got married. I am a air force brat. This move I am on right now is my 26 th move, my whole life. I met my husband while I was in England for the second time. It was his first tour of duty in the air force. I was in high school at the time. Lol I dropped out to run away from home with him to get married in the US. We have 2 boys. Rob who is 23 and Chis who will be 19 Sept 6 th. We gave both of them the option of coming over here again with us. They decided not to. So both are living and working in Arizona. I LOVE scrapbooking. I have been doing it for well over 10 years. It goes hand in hand with my first passion....Photography. I have been fortunate enough to have won several awards with some of my work. I have been playing with computers since the first came out!!! Lol I have a degree in computer science. I have worked for companies such as Dell or Unysis. But currently I am not employed.that makes it hard to hide all my scrap supplies since everything comes out of out joint checkbook!!!! Hah I have two dogs Piper who is a Yorkshire terrier and Shadow who is a Weimaraner.
Hi everyone! My name is Shirley. I am 53 years old. I was born and raised in Iowa, lived in Minnesota for a few years, lived in Seattle for 3 years, went on a mission for my church to Paraguay, South America, moved to Utah and have been here for 28 years. I met my DH 22 years ago through a dating service! We will be married 21 yrs in Oct. I have four step-children (just like my own) and 2 of our own. Oldest son 33 - computer guru; next son 30 - graphic designer; next son 28 - oral surgeon; daughter 26 - teacher and actress; son 18 - just graduated going to medical school; son 14 - going in to 8th grade. Wow! I have an amazing family! I have never been a creative person, no crafts, nothing. I never liked to do much of anything except sports until I was 24. That is when I discovered a love for reading. But not much else. I was in a performing group for a while. I have been a legal secretary, a paralegal, an administrative assistant, and volunteered at many different times for many different things. Still not a crafty bone in my body. Which is why I was totally blown out of the water when my DH gave me a Cricut Expression for Christmas last year! I had no idea WHAT I was going to do with it! I found out about MTC on the internet, bought it but didn't get it on my computer until about 3 weeks ago and have been playing around with it since. I am not a creative person, but love to see other people's creativity. I can copy but don't think I have the capacity to create beautiful things like you all have. This is an amazing group and I am willing to set out on a new journey. I am not computer literate either. Not a really good combination for this group, right? I do love to learn so here we go!
I just wanted to say, you may be in for a surprise. You are probably more creative than you think.
For years I didn't think I was creative because I wasn't artistic. I can't draw a straight line. But about 15 years ago I discovered a couple of programs that allowed me to start thinking otherwise. I found that I couldn't stop thinking of things to make with paper. That is when my love affair with paper started.
Welcome to the MTC forum. To start your creative juices flowing, there are a lot of papercrafting magazines, both on-line and hard copy that you can pick up at the grocery store. Just take some time and look through them. You'll start getting ideas and they probably won't stop.
Hello, I am Mary from Central PA. I purchased the Make The Cut software to see how it will work with my cricut. Looking forward to at least welding letters together!
Hello Guys--Saw the sticky and thought I would join in! Hi I am Vicki and relatively new to MTC I got it about a month ago after being frustrated with the limitations of carts... I live in VA with my HS sweetheart and hubby of 28 years-- our kids are grown and gone which is suppose to leave me with lots of time.... hahaha I had alot of high hopes and read read read the forums here and then summer kicked into high gear and sadly have not cut anything out with MTC (YET!) but plan to really soon.
I am pretty good on the computer side of things but stumble with remembering how I got from point A to point B--- hopefully I won't become too annoying with my questions! I gotta say I love this community so far!
Hi there, my name is Julie and I live on the south coast of England, UK. Recently turned 50 (oh well), I'm married to a fantastic man, second time around for both of us - this time for keeps! Got my Cricut about 8 months ago and have 3 carts but looking at their wedsite never seem to quite find the images I want.... been playing with the trial version of MTC for a while and now the exchange rate has gone up, I've got it! I'm useless at drawing but love crafting especially card making, now I can design to my hearts content!!
Hello from OHIO! I live in South Western Ohio, Cincinnati area, (Dana, I how where Hamilton is...LOL). I've always been "crafty" and love to create. I have a wonderful husband, and 4 children who have blessed us with 4 (and one-on-the-way) grandchildren. What a great forum, everyone is alwalys so helpful! I purchase MTC a couple of months ago and have been lurking on the web site every since.(it's a daily compulsion) Thanks to everyone for the help, I read and re-read many of the articles, while learning,( so not to ask too many newbie questions) the help is awsome and much apperciated. Thanks to ANDY for the awsome software!!
Hi Everyone!! I'm from down in Alabama and sisters and brothers it is HOT down here!!!! Today's thermometer reads 102, but the heat index is about 110. I'm staying inside and NO ONE can make me go out in that heat!! So, I've been crafting for about 5 years now. I've had my Cricut for about 4 years and I love it. I bought 40 carts and then I found MTC. What an incredible program!! I have loved every minute of using this. I have just become addicted to vinyl and I'm using MTC for all of my projects. I'm also selling my projects so that makes it even better! My hubby is working as much right now, so every little bit helps. So, it's nice to "meet" all of you and I look forward to conversing and sharing with all of you real soon :)
Hi Everybody: Im from SC its hot hot hot here today I am a mother of 2 sons both grown and grandmother of 3. I'm new to this program been reading a lot about it. I'm just getting into scrapbooking dedicated a whole room to this new adventure and I'm excited took me a while to rearrange the rooms so now I am ready to start. I went to vegas in March got married yup married in vegas. Got home realized I wanted to make a scrapbook of the vegas adventure (not to mention all the other ideas I have). So when I went to the store I was in shock to see how much scrapbooking stuff was available got pretty excited about it. I bought a cricut then I realized that its not got all I needed searched the internet found MTC and today I am learning how to use all this stuff I have. I'm sure its gonna be a lot of fun. I can't wait to read all the postings and to be able to chat with all of you. Have a nice day. Robin37
Hello everyone, My name is Lisa Matthews. I live in Southern California. I am married to Joe and we have 3 great kids together-- Karina, Samuel and Jack. We are a crafty little family and love the cricut and the MTC software. Jack will be staring kindergarten next week. I purchased MTC in May 2010 and have used it to cut cards and projects out for my kids. I have been a quilter for over 20 years and teaching quilting and machine embroidery for about 8 years, as my hobby. In my day job I am a project manager for software development. I love this software, it is so easy to use and the support is incredible. I have used many of my artwork from machine embroidery to cut files for cards and scrapbooks. I am learning more each time I attend the webinars, but I get a lot from the daily forum posts. I read everything, but have not posted, as I am still learning what to do!!! I hope to one day master this software and be as knowledgeable and creative as many of you who post the most beautiful designs here! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful designs, and most of all, for sharing your knowledge with us so that we can create pretty things too. This group is so friendly and helpful. Thank you.
I am Tanya from middle of nowhere Canada lol...Hard working Super-single-mom of 2. :) I've been scrapbooking and making hand made cards and gifties for over 11 years now. I am fairly new to MTC and the Cricut but am looking forward to using all the goodies to make my gifties and stuff faster and easier to do as well as letting my wild imagination create some fabulous new things! I have already found some amazing ideas and goodies on here and look forward to sharing some of mine and templates etc too :) You all sound like a friendly fun bunch from what I see!
Lisa, another Southern Californian! (We are few and far between here)... alyssalean and kid are also So. CA, Terina is farther north of us, and I'm not sure if John&Kathy are still in CA or moved out of state...
Hi All, my name is Linda and I live in the UK I am married and I have 3 children 31, 26 and 19, I'm a teaching asst and I work in the technology department so I get to play with all the equipment including a Roland 24in plotter and it doesnt use mats just need to replace the blade (Ive told them I want it when they get a new one) and I love my job before the cricut came along I used to cut out by hand but i hated it, I have other programs but not keen on them as MTC. This program changed my way of crafting with my cricut, I can design my own now and use them in school with the students, ive even taught some of them how to use the program too. I don't often come in and leave messages but I am here quite alot I love reading the boards and seeing your work it gives me inspiration to do mine ive added a couple of bits today if anyone wishes to use them i dont mind they are in the gallery under Textures and Backgrounds i think, they are little floral ones and the bottom of the page, it is lovely to come in and read and see like minded people who like the same things and create lovely designs so hopefully I'll get time to pop in more often (when i get time after doing my NVQ level 2, neccesary now for TAs to work in schools so I was told) have a good day/evening where ever you are.
Hi y'all. I got my introduction to MTC just one short week ago and am now the proud owner of an Expression and this lovely MTC software. I got a Wishblade when they first came out. I loved being able to cut any TTF font and to be able to design my own files. I stayed away from the Cricut machines for the longest time because I didn't want to buy into the "buy another cartridge" world. With the MTC/Expression solution, I'm now thrilled to have a 12 inch wide canvas to play with, what appears to be a very good quality machine, and I can still design my own files and titles. I'm thrilled.
As for myself, well, my name is Monika. You probably guessed that by now. I'm originally from Germany but immigrated to the states as a young child. I've bee scrapping since 1999. I'm a working mom of two amazing children that I adore. My other hobbies include riding a Harley, sewing, and needlepoint. I also cook, but that seems more of a chore than a hobby.
I look forward to getting to know you all and am ready to put my lovely new cutting system to good use.
Yeah!!! Monika is here! Ladies, please welcome my friend Monika to the MTC board. She is an extremely talented card maker and scrapbooker. I showed her MTC this past weekend at a retreat and she was hooked. Before she left she'd already purchased and downloaded MTC and ordered her CE as well.
Monika, the ladies on this board are some of the friendliest you will ever meet. Any question, any time, any way, they jump to help you and you'll find a huge supply of "enabling" here too. Be sure to check the blog thread to find tons of free .svg files as well as Amy Chomas' page where she sells the gel pens and holder for your new CE as well as the embossing tool.
Hi Everyone! My name is Jean. I live in the High Desert in California, I migrated from a very northern state a few decades ago and still love it here. Black Friday 2011 will mark the 2nd anniversary of my purchase of a CE. I collected a "few" carts here and there but never used them, I even toyed with the idea of selling it all. Then 4 days ago I found MTC. I found the very well written instructions to update the firmware and it did without a problem. I have used my CE more the past 4 days than I have the past 1.5+ years. I have to wait until payday to purchase my key for MTC but I am finally excited about scrapbooking again.
Howdy! My name is Diane. I just found MTC yesterday, downloaded the trial and bought it 30 min later, right along side reading a bunch of posts on here. I've had a cricut for a couple years, along with DS, and have had SCAL for about a year... but I hardly use it. MTC is AWESOME!! You can actually see all your fonts and dingbats and I don't feel claustrophobic with all the windows on my screen. ;) I just finished buying a ton of carts for a good price, but now I feel like I wish I would have waited a month longer, because now I feel like I've hit the jackpot. Oh well. :) I'm really excited to play around (and also will wait for the day when I can also use it on my Mac. - my bro is a Mac programmer. I don't know if he'd be interested in helping with this, but I'm not sure if Andy is ready yet either. I read some comments that maybe down the road?!) anyway, I'm not a scrapbooker, more of a crafter and artist? I have an etsy shop where I make a hodge podge of items, and that is mainly what I use my cricut for. :) So far, it seems like everyone on here is really nice and I'm excited to have such a great place to turn to for questions and ideas! :) Thanks everyone! :)
oh, and I'm from Utah. Married to my best friend, and we have two very little boys. :) Life is good.
Hi. I'm also a Tanya... from Texas. I am a wife, mom, crafter! I am a Creative Memories Consultant, work full time in an IT shop, and have a very active 10 year old son. I seem to spend most of my weekends at the ballpark during the spring. We are taking a sports break this fall. I don't have much time to craft as I did before sports... but I have more photo's to scrapbook. I have had my Cricut for four years. I was always buying carts, and heard about MTC. I bought it back in March, but haven't had time to learn much. Hoping to learn alot this fall while on a sports break. I've already gotten lots of help here... and ya'll are a much easier group to get involved with than the official cricut site.
wow the list is growing...but I know there are a lot who havent discovered this post yet, hopefully they find there way. Still amazes me no one from New Hampshire? Maybe I should move,.what do you think?
Hi, everyone. I am like my user names says, Mom of 3 "Cookies" (our last name is Cook), 16 year-old son, and twin 13 year-old daughters residing in Daniels, WV. I am a Pastor's Wife and the Administrative Assistant for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in South Central West Virginia.
I have done crafts of all sorts since I was little (I grew up in East Peoria, IL). My mom had a knack for looking at something and creating later and I have been blessed with that talent. My daughters seem to be getting that talent, too. My craft/sewing room has a little bit of everything in it.
I just purchase the Cricut Expression, the rolling bag, MTC, and some rolls of vinyls and adhesive and am very excited to start "writing on the wall". I am a little overwhelmed with all the information I am taking in. I see tons of possibilites, but not sure where to begin. I have been visiting the Make the Cut Classroom, but I am not finding the tutorial for starting and using texts only. I am planning on using this to put scriptures on walls at the church and in my office and call it "HIS writing on the wall".
